Frequently asked questions
Find answers to common queries about our editing process, services, and how we can help bring your story to life.
How long will it take to edit my entire manuscript?
The timeline depends on the length of your manuscript and the type of editing needed. On average, editing takes 4-8 weeks.
Can I request a sample edit before committing?
We offer sample edits at a discounted rate for up to 10 pages of your manuscript to help you understand our approach before proceeding.
Should my manuscript be finished before I contact you?
Not necessarily. If you’re still in the drafting phase, we can provide guidance or help with developmental editing to refine your story. Your manuscript should be finished if you’re looking for line or copy editing services.
How do you ensure my voice is preserved during editing?
Your editor will make thoughtful suggestions that align with your intent, vision, and writing style. All edits are visible through Track Changes.
What if I disagree with some of the suggested edits?
You are free to implement only the suggested revisions that align with your vision and goals for the manuscript.
Can you help me decide what type of editing I need?
Absolutely! After reviewing your manuscript, we’ll recommend the type of editing that best suits your goals and the manuscript’s current stage.
Do you edit specific genres or all types of books?
We specialize in fiction, including romance, YA, thrillers, and children’s books, but we also work on nonfiction projects. Feel free to ask about your specific genre.
Do you provide guidance on self-publishing after editing?
We focus solely on editing services, but we’re happy to refer you to trusted professionals for self-publishing guidance if needed.
